Arkansas

Arkansas's Ozark Mountains cover most of the northern half of the state with hiking trails and small river towns.

Hot Springs National Park is built directly around natural thermal springs that people have bathed in for over a century, and the surrounding bathhouse row is preserved from that era. Crater of Diamonds State Park, further south, is the only diamond site in the world open to the public for digging, and anything found is yours to keep.

Eureka Springs, tucked into the Ozarks, is known for Victorian architecture built into a steep hillside.
