Kern County Museum

An open-air history museum just north of downtown Bakersfield, about 30 minutes from Wasco, built around more than 60 preserved historic buildings spread across 16 acres. Its steam train ride through the museum grounds is a genuine standout, giving it more to do than a typical indoor-only county museum.
