Kings Canyon National Park

A national park east of Sanger, home to the General Grant Tree, the town's namesake Nation's Christmas Tree, and dramatic canyon scenery. A longer drive than most of the other day trips here, best planned as a full day. The General Grant Tree is the direct source of Sanger's own civic identity as the Nation's Christmas Tree City, making a visit here feel less like a generic national park trip and more like tracing the town's own origin story.
