Patterson Apricot Fiesta

Patterson's signature event since the 1970s, held the weekend after Memorial Day with a parade, carnival, craft and food vendors, and a hot air balloon meet, run by the nonprofit Patterson Apricot Fiesta Inc. Now in its mid-50s of annual editions, it's the clearest expression of the town's identity as the self-declared Apricot Capital of the World, and draws visitors well beyond Stanislaus County for the three-day run. The balloon meet in particular is a genuine visual highlight, with hot air balloons launching at dawn.
