Riverbank Downtown Plaza

Remodeled in 2009, this downtown plaza includes a mural and a statue honoring the cable ferry operators who gave the town its start before the railroad arrived, a deliberate nod to Riverbank's origins rather than a generic beautification project. It's a small, walkable space rather than a full park, more suited to a short stop between the historical museum and a downtown meal than a destination on its own. The statue in particular is one of the more specific, locally meaningful pieces of public art in Riverbank.
